Sponsored events such as runs, extreme challenges and physical activities are a great way of raising money. For years, one of the easiest and quickest ways to raise money for charity has been a bake sale. Whether it be in your local church hall, community centre or your child’s school, a bake sale is always going to bring the punters in, who doesn’t like cake right? Plus, when it’s for a good cause the calories don’t count. Ha!
You could even do something on a small scale amongst friends. Someone be the host and everyone else donate to the charity pot for their coffee and cake. Beats spending a fortune in an expensive coffee shop. With this in mind Marie Curie have put together some easy to follow recipes to encourage people to fundraise for their Marie Curie’s Great Daffodil Appeal.
Are you to do good and raise money for a good cause? Then look no further than this very simple and straightforward recipe for peanut butter, oats, and chocolate squares. This is perfect for a fundraiser, or just to make for your family at home.
Steps
1
Done
|
Line your cake tin with tin foil. |
2
Done
|
Empty the Nature Valley Oats & Chocolate Bars into a large sandwich bag and crush them into small crumbs. Hitting them with a rolling pin also works! |
3
Done
|
Melt the peanut butter and butter in the microwave for 20 seconds. |
4
Done
|
Using a large bowl, mix together the peanut butter and butter with the crushed Nature Valley Bars until they’re all incorporated. |
5
Done
|
Empty the mixture into your lined cake tin, making sure it covers the entire base of the tin. |
6
Done
|
Put the tin in the fridge for at least an hour. The base should become harder, but not completely. |
7
Done
|
When the base is ready, melt the chocolate and peanut butter in short 30 second bursts in the microwave, stirring in between. |
8
Done
|
Once the base is melted, pour the chocolatey peanut butter over the base, making sure it is completely covered. |
9
Done
|
After an hour, it’s all ready to slice in squares and serve! |
